The ACCA: accelerating the growth and development of cloud computing in Asia Pacific since 2010.
The ACCA launched its Data Analytics White Paper titled ‘Data Analytics to Bridge Knowledge Gaps: An ACCA White Paper on Supply and Demand for Big Data Analytics in Asia Pacific' on 13 October, 6-7pm, Lantern Bar, Fullerton Bay Hotel, Singapore.
With the Marina Bay as the backdrop, it was a wonderful evening to reconnect with old friends, and meet new ones. The launch was opened by Ms Shehara Viswanathan, ACCA Vice-Chair, who shared ACCA’s history and position as a thought leader in the technology sector.
Mr Arun Sundar, Chairman of the ACCA Emerging Cloud Services Working Group, and Chief Strategy Officer, TrustSphere, provided highlights of the white paper. The white paper takes a unique angle; it focuses on Asia Pacific and the demand and supply of analytics solutions in the region. It reveals a high demand for customised analytics solution in Asia Pacific, but also shows the difficulty providers have in communicating their technical solutions in a simple way. It concludes with identifying areas where demand of analytics will grow in the future.
Mr Arun Sundar’s leadership for the white paper culminated in this successful launch, with tech journalist, government officials, and professional from the telecommunications, technology industry joining the event. Eric Hui, ACCA Treasurer, concluded the event by highlighting the importance of such studies in furthering the understanding of important technology developments in the region.
The white paper is one of ACCA’s unique outputs gathered through sentiments shared with the ACCA via a multi-phased survey carried out across the region amongst companies and data analytics service providers. It offers suggestions to plug the gaps in service to encourage more adoption of data analytics as a vital business tool and to help grow the number of data-driven businesses across the region.
